Truth behind the Indian Independence..

Truth behind the Indian Independence..

You know, what is a subject and predicate..
Well here's it..
The complete subject tells whom or what the sentence is about. For example; The house, The red car, or The great teacher. The complete predicate tells what the subject is or does. For example; (The house) is white, (The red car) is fast, or (The great teacher) likes students.

The Indian independence history is some what like this. We so much glorify our leaders struggle who we believe has gotten us the independence, ignoring those who really lived their entire lives with this struggle but unfortunately could not see the light of independence.

Here we become the subjects I believe. We look through just one lense and believe what our designed course of history, the history taught us in the school and the available material for reading. We are never given the broader view nor our we allowed to think in those terms. In short the history is so much distorted by our politicians that, no one ever will know the truth unless he goes beyond the books in his quest to learn the truth.

Reading the diary of Anne Frank has opened the gates of the European History. The fall of the Germans in the WW 1 and thereafter the rising popularity of Hitler. Hitler's call'Germans awake' and his motivational speeches and his ambition to conquer the European countries, everything leading to the WW II.

UK and the US were quiet until, they were not affected by the war, but the approaching Germans to Britain brought in dark clouds of uncertainty. Not only that, they actually attacked them and the very existence of the British were shaken. Talks of Britain would no longer remain were discussed in all the European countries and US refused ti provide and help as they did not wanted to get into the war. Churchill's request for help was fallen on deaf ears.

Germans were defeated on the sea but later attacked them through air. They bombed the businesses and later the civilians. Churchill kept the moral high, by his extraordinary speeches on the BBC and his Keep calm and carry on phrase. Ordinary Britishers, kept their moral high looking at their leader and carried on day to day life even when their businesses or houses were bombed. There was no question of settlement with the Germans as it would amount to surrender and when Churchill disclosed this, he got overwhelming support from his people.

USA woke up and agreed to help Britain after the Pearl Harbour attack, but on conditions of signing the The Atlantic Charter.

Churchill and Roosevelt met on August 9 and 10, 1941 aboard the U.S.S. Augusta in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, to discuss their respective war aims for the Second World War and to outline a postwar international system. The Charter they drafted included eight "common principles" that the United States and Great Britain would be committed to supporting in the postwar world. Both countries agreed not to seek territorial expansion; to seek the liberalization of international trade; to establish freedom of the seas, and international labor, economic, and welfare standards. Most importantly, both the United States and Great Britain were committed to supporting the restoration of self-governments for all countries that had been occupied during the war and allowing all peoples to choose their own form of government.

And it was this document, I believe, which ultimately force the British to transfer the powers to from British India to India. I also came across an article by Dr. Susmit Kumar P.hd , where he says, it was Hitler who gave independence to India and not Gandhi. He has written his thoughts on well founded study and this was what I exactly started to wonder, and wished to find out what was true. My quest to find more direction to my beliefs led me to this article. While the entire Britain was going into the dark and it's existence shaken, how will they rule any other country? They might have put a brave face but surely when the very existence is shaken, they would want to run away from ruling other countries. This is what exactly happened in India too. And we are taught to believe it was our struggle which led them out of our country. What a pity, when the actual course of history is twisted to show how they are great men and how good they have done to the country?

Dr.Susmit further writes, 'Regardless of Gandhi or any other charismatic leader, Britain would have left India in 1947 purely for financial reasons, due to its wholly collapsed economy. After WWII, Britain left not only India but nearly all its other holdings, including Jordan in 1946, Palestine in 1947, Sri Lanka in 1948, Myanmar in 1948, Egypt in 1952 and Malaysia in 1957. For the same reason, France also had to grant independence to Laos in 1949 and Cambodia in 1953, and had to leave Vietnam in 1954; Netherlands also left most of its colonies called Dutch East Indies, mainly Indonesia in 1949. Had there been no Hitler and no World War II, it most probably would have taken another 30 or more years for India and some of the other colonies to achieve independence.'
